# Payments

Create and manage rent, bill, and credit card payments. All endpoints require a Bearer token from your [API Partner Dashboard](https://app.neobanc.com/api-dashboard/api-keys).

## Create a payment

Creates a rent or bill payment. The response includes a 12-digit `identificationNumber` the payer must include in their Interac e-transfer description so Neobanc can match the incoming funds.

<https://api.neobanc.com/openapi.json>
{% endopenapi %}

## Create a credit card payment

Creates a rent payment paid by credit card. The response includes a `paymentUrl` — send this link to the payer, who completes identity verification and pays by card.

{% openapi src="<https://api.neobanc.com/openapi.json>" path="/create-credit-card-payment" method="post" %}
<https://api.neobanc.com/openapi.json>
{% endopenapi %}

## Payment history

Returns all payments created via your API token for a given user email, optionally filtered by date range.

{% openapi src="<https://api.neobanc.com/openapi.json>" path="/payment-history" method="post" %}
<https://api.neobanc.com/openapi.json>
{% endopenapi %}

## Update a payment

Updates the sender email on a pending payment — use this when the payer sends their Interac transfer from a different email than originally provided.

{% openapi src="<https://api.neobanc.com/openapi.json>" path="/update-payment" method="patch" %}
<https://api.neobanc.com/openapi.json>
{% endopenapi %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.neobanc.com/api-reference/payments.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
